Sejerø has an incredibly rich wildlife, both
in terms of roe deer, hares and pheasants.
One reason for this very game is that there
are no foxes on the island, so the offspring
greatest enemy is the large raptors that
also thrive here.
The large raptors such as buzzards, kites
and owls breed on the island.
In winter you will see seals lie in the
water just off the coast, and in the summer
follows porpoises ferry to and from the
island.
At dusk, there is little chance to see roe
deer, going and hearths in the fields.
Roe has not always been a natural part of
Sejerø wildlife. The game was released with
great success in the late '90s.
